When more intense inpatient care is needed, the patient may be moved to our home-like Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center at Via Christi-St. Francis. A caring place where ·        Comfort is achieved ·        End-of-life decisions are respected ·        Pain and other symptoms that can lead to discomfort are controlled   Care is given by a skilled team ·        Clinical staffing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week ·        Master’s level licensed social workers provide counseling and community resource assistance ·        Chaplains assist with spiritual needs ·        Trained volunteers to greet families and provide relief to caregivers when needed ·        Medical director certified in hospice care and palliative medicine ·        Grief counseling for families Admission Admission to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center must be coordinated with your doctor. The hospice center is not a nursing home and is meant as temporary care until the patient can return home or to another setting.
