Hospice is a concept of care specializing in support for families and caregivers, and comfort for people with life limiting illnesses. Hospice is for all age groups, including infants, children and adults. Taking care of a loved one during the final stages of life can be very rewarding but also stressful. Our role is to provide physical, emotional, social and spiritual support and bereavement services to the patient, caregivers, and family.
Hospice care is provided where it works best for you. Most people prefer to stay at home, but care can also be provided in a nursing home, assisted living facility, hospital setting or hospice in-patient unit. (Short breaks for the patient’s caregiver may also be available and arranged through hospice.)
